Mental Health First Aid

We all have mental health and just like our physical health, it needs looking after. One in four of us will experience poor mental health in any one given year. Learning about our mental health and ways to get support can empower people to thrive.
There is a community of half a million Mental Health First Aiders in England and 3 million people worldwide who are trained to recognise ill mental health and help people find the support they need. It is this community who will help achieve a vision of society where the care of mental health is accepted as a normal part of life and everyone has the skills to look after their own and other people’s wellbeing.
In Summer 2022 the FHE Community Partnership supported those wishing to undertake the challenging and demanding Adult Mental Health First Aid Training. Those individuals who successfully completed the nationally accredited Mental Health First Aid Training represent a range of groups including, Opal, Frodsham Memory Café, Frodsham Bee Friends, STAR Peer Bereavement, Oxfam, Foodbank, Elton Memory Café, The Knoll PPG, Helsby and Elton PPG, St Lawrence’s Church, Helsby High School, Frodsham Players, Frodsham Festival of Walks, Meet and Eat, CWAC, Weaver Words and Frodsham U3A.
This is a nationally recognised and highly regarded qualification and resulted in a trained group of individuals from Frodsham, Helsby and Elton who have put their knowledge and expertise to good use. In order to maintain and continue with their MHFA (England) Accreditation the individuals undertook further intensive training in the summer of 2025.
