Martin’s Award
Bumping into Culture presented a series of classical, light music and jazz concerts in 2024, performed by professional musicians, in a variety of local community spaces across Cheshire West and Chester, for the many people who have become increasingly lonely and isolated in their own homes, often as a result of the pandemic.
The project was managed by Bee Friends Frodsham and staff from five libraries, together with the Rural Locality Librarian. Martin from Bee Friends organised 27 chamber music concerts across Cheshire West and Chester in libraries, community centres and village halls, in Frodsham, Helsby, Tarvin, Neston and Lache. Following his amazing hard work, Martin has now been awarded the Cheshire West Community and Voluntary Arts Award for Music!
Musicians from the Royal Northern College of Music, and some of our world class regional orchestras – Manchester Camerata, the Halle, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, and the BBC Philharmonic performed for Bumping into Culture.
